Keeping it real here: It’s almost the end of National Infertility Awareness Week (April 21-27) and I did not get around to writing anything new.
But I feel no guilt or itchy people-pleasing need to post something wildly profound. (That is all God’s grace for this recovering people pleaser!) Instead, I’ve chosen to list my most popular infertility-related posts.
On another note, while trying to conceive seems far behind me now, my heart and care for you is still abundant! I pray that you will find great comfort, peace, and rest as you trust in our Lord and Savior Jesus—the only One who equips us to fight this enormous battle. He cares for you, he loves you, he welcomes you, and he is always with you. Cast all of your burdens on him, friend. Jesus is the only reason I stand here today victorious and at peace with my child-free post-infertility life.
May my top 10 most popular infertility-related posts bring you hope, conviction, and courage:
Our Story
“I received a diagnosis of PCOS in March 2013 when I first visited a Reproductive Endocrinologist. We had been ‘not trying/not preventing’ to conceive right after we were married in 2009. We officially began ‘trying’ in 2012. I went through two rounds of ovulation-inducing drugs (Femara/Letrozole + HCG trigger shot) and intrauterine inseminations (IUI) in 2015. Both cycles ‘failed’ with no detectable pregnancy.” [READ POST]

When Mother’s Day Hurts
“I have been that woman in church on Mother’s Day. Infertility had darkened my heart and tempted me to despair. Anticipating the day in fear, internally I wished over and over: ‘Please don’t make the moms stand up. Please don’t hand out flowers to moms. Please, no one wish me a happy Mother’s Day.’ It wasn’t anger or jealousy, but my attention was more focused on my isolation and brokenness. I was grieving the loss of my longtime dream to be a mother. I felt as though all eyes were on me: the barren, childless woman in the congregation, the one who ‘wasn’t blessed.'” [READ POST]

What Infertility Means to the Enemy
“The enemy loves broken bodies. He loves broken spirits. And infertility is a painful combination of both. As we wait for a child among our broken bodies and minds, the enemy loves to use infertility.” [READ POST]

6 Infertility Bloggers Explain What Infertility Feels Like
“I’ve always felt that infertility is like a spectator sport—I feel like I’m in the only one in the bleachers watching everyone play, and I’m unqualified to join the team. This has become my most-pinned post on Pinterest, and I think it’s because it’s so easy to understand and relate. Childlessness and the Fear of Being Forgotten
“Friends my age have moved on to (rightly) pursue and prioritize their children and family life. So, naturally I don’t get invited to play dates, I don’t understand half the things they talk about, and I can feel as though I don’t have a ‘place.’ This leads me to believe the lie that I will continue to be forgotten by those I love and will be left behind as the years go on without a traditional family structure.” [READ POST]
